PACMRC consists of four research
departments including Bacteriology, Virology,
Parasitology and Mycology.
The major research potential in
our research center is mostly based on new and
traditional aspects for identifying
Microorganisms such as molecular (PCR,RT-PCR),
cellular aspects and serological methods
(IFA,FTA,Western Blotting) and traditional
bacteriology and Bactec System.
Our research Laboratory Center
Budget is supported by the Iranian
Government Budget and Programming Organization
(IGBPO).
In the year 2000, Dr. Christopher
Nelson, a representative of W.H.O., visited our
research facilities. His report stated that our
facility is the best research center in
the Middle East.
PACMRC research which was done in the last
decade, was mostly on Meningitis (Viral and
Bacterial), Tuberculosis, Brucellosis,
Antibiotic Resistancy especially Methicillin
Resistant Staphylococcus
aureus,Viral hepatitis A, B, and C,
Enteroviruses, Herpesviruses, Cytomegloviruses,
Polioviruses, Polyomaviruses,Leishmaniasis
(Cutaneous and Visceral type), Fungal Diseases
and Herbal medicine.
Our research center has been approved as an
Academic Pivot for Meningitis in Iran. In
addition, our center was selected as the best
research center at the Razi Research Festival in
2002.
